Al Berard (the late father of Laura Huval and Maegan Berard, and uncle of Callie Guidry) passed away in 2014 due to a sudden illness. The Berard family quickly started the The Al Berard Memorial Music Fund, a fund at Community Foundation of Acadiana, which promotes Acadiana's unique musical culture by providing instruments, master teachers, and music scholarships to students of all ages. Al Berard, a Grammy nominated musician, was a pillar of his community and mentor for music lovers everywhere. His passion was to teach everyone he met about his love for music and for the Cajun/Creole culture. CLICK HERE to learn more about Al Berard and his music.
