Sweet Cecilia entertains for the Acadiana Roots Christmas Show at 7 p.m. Dec. 22 in the Daily Advertiser’s Community Room. The $10 admission includes light snacks, beverages and a music and conversation experience with an all-female trio named after their hometown in St. Martin Parish and the patron saint of musicians.

Sweet Cecilia will sing tunes from their holiday EP, “Sweet Christmas.” The trio features sisters Maegan Berard and Laura Huval, daughters of the late Cajun fiddler Al Berard, and their first cousin, Callie Guidry. This family band has played Bach Lunch, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Festivals Acadiens et Creoles. Members of Sweet Cecilia have been instrumental in the Al Berard Memorial Music Fund at the Community Foundation of Acadiana. Proceeds from the annual Al Berard Music Festival are donated to the fund, which pays for instruments, master teachers and music scholarships for local students of all ages.
